Here Bill, all wrapped up

Since January when Sandra first started work on her Education Reform Blogs, Bill Gates' name keeps showing up everywhere.  He was there when Sandra posted her blog on Data Mining Children way back in early January, he created the programs for the project.

A few days later she posted on the Eli Board Foundation's efforts to train and  place School Superintendents on local school boards. In order to make the deal more attractive to the school boards, the foundation would subsidize the new superintendents salary or a couple years.  It turned out Bill Gates was in the background subsidizing the Eli Board foundation..

A little latter it started becoming obvious he was behind the teacher merit pay plans the state legislatures all shoved through this spring so they could get Obama's Race To The Top money..  All those tests that would be required to grade the teachers will end up being administered and scored by Bill Gate's close friends and business associates at Pearson Testing. Three guesses who owns the programs they use..

When the discussion turned to Nationalized Common Core Testing and Nation wide  Standardized Testing Program.. It seems Bill Gates, or his employees may have written the programs original guidelines.  When the Department of Education awarded contracts to two consortia to actually develop the programs, there was Bill Gates with his new business partner Pearson Testing.

If you even need to ask who is behind and who stands to profit from the Virtual Charter School proposals, you're not paying attention...

In more emails than I can count, step by step Sandra and I have been discussing this privately, at first it seemed so far fetched it had to be nuts.  We've both been reluctant to start talking about a conspiricy to Nationalize Public Education and then hand it over to a private company to manage.. but that seems to be the plan.  A couple days ago Sandra sent me a link to susanohanian.org

Sandra and I aren't the only ones thinking along those lines.

LA Fun with Communists, Illegals and the SEIU

Today was Mothers Day, I'd planned on keeping non political, just post a few short videos about Mothers and have a few beers. If you want to spend a non political day, never look at the news. I should know better, but this afternoon, when I should have been having a beer.. or several

I paid a quick visit to Big Journalism, just to reply to some people who had replied to my comments.  First mistake, I spotted an article originally posted on Pajamas Media titled SEIU drops mask, goes full commie   I found what has to be largest Communist Demonstration of Power in American History.  The story seems to have gone mostly unreported by Big Media outlets

The story had several photographs, part of a photo essay California blogger and photographer Ringo had posted on his website  Ringo’s Pictures   From there I went to the visit some of the SEIU websites to see what they had to say and found this video



These are the workers the lady is so fond of... Many are illegal aliens, infiltrators who crossed our borders illegally, to bring us this message..

In a move that shocked me,, and most of the rest of the world..  Obama has released his Birth Certificate...

I expect the move will hurt or probably end whatever White House aspirations Donald Trump had.. and may play help the Presidents re-election chances considerably...

Donald Trump Takes Credit for Obama Birth Certificate Release; Questions Authenticity

After the president releases the document, Trump says, "We have to see if it's real, if it's proper."
Even though President Barack Obama has released his birth certificate, Donald Trump is still questioning it.

"[We're] going to look at it. We have to see if it's real, if it's proper," Trump said a press conference in New Hampshire Wednesday. The Republican presidential hopeful added that he's "sure it's the right deal" and that he is going to move on from birther questions to more important issues like OPEC and China.

Then let them eat cake, a young Marie Antoinette is said to have joked at her husbands corination during the Paris Bread Shortage...  Then oblivious to the national debt, the queen overspent on clothes, gambling and diamonds and everything else imagianable. Her spending habits caused quite a stir as France was on the verge of bankruptcy. The long series of wars fought by Louis XIV and Louis XV had left France with Europe's highest national debt.  We all know how the story eventually ended for both Marie Antoinette and her husband Louis XIV 

There is some question about whether or not she actually make the statement, but to this day it's used to show a disconnect between the rich and poor.  Or to describe a leader who is completey out of touch with the needs of his people...

The version they tested cost $43,700 plus a $5,000 dealer markup ("Don't worry," I can hear the salesperson saying, "you'll get more than that back in your tax credit!"), or a whopping $48,700 minus the credit.

This is one reason that Volt sales are anemic: 326 in December, 321 in January, and 281 in February. GM announced a production run of 100,000 in the first two years. Who is going to buy all these cars?

Another reason they aren't exactly flying off the lots is because, well, they have some problems. In a telling attempt to preserve battery power, the heater is exceedingly weak. Consumer Reports averaged a paltry 25 miles of electric-only running, in part because it was testing in cold Connecticut. (My engineer at the Auto Show said cold weather would have little effect.)

Seems the rebels are getting some training from special forces.

US and Egyptian special forces have reportedly been providing covert training to rebel fighters in the battle for Libya, Al Jazeera has been told.

An unnamed rebel source related how he had undergone training in military techniques at a "secret facility" in eastern Libya.  He told our correspondent Laurence Lee, reporting from the rebel-stronghold of Benghazi, that he was sent to fire Katyusha rockets but was given a simple, unguided version of the rocket instead.

"He told us that on Thursday night a new shipment of Katyusha rockets had been sent into eastern Libya from Egypt. He didn't say they were sourced from Egypt, but that was their route through," our correspondent said.

"He said these were state-of-the-art, heat-seeking rockets and that they needed to be trained on how to use them, which was one of the things the American and Egyptian special forces were there to do."

The intriguing development raises several questions, about Egypt's private involvement and what the arms embargo exactly means, said our correspondent.

DARNA, Libya—Two former Afghan Mujahedeen and a six-year detainee at Guantanamo Bay have stepped to the fore of this city’s military campaign, training new recruits for the front and to protect the city from infiltrators loyal to Col. Moammar Gadhafi.

The presence of Islamists like these amid the opposition has raised concerns, among some fellow rebels as well as their Western allies, that the goal of some Libyan fighters in battling Col. Gadhafi is to propagate Islamist extremism.

Abdel Hakim al-Hasady, an influential Islamic preacher and high-school teacher who spent five years at a training camp in eastern Afghanistan, oversees the recruitment, training and deployment of about 300 rebel fighters from Darna.

Mr. Hasady’s field commander on the front lines is Salah al-Barrani, a former fighter from the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, or LIFG, which was formed in the 1990s by Libyan mujahedeen returning home after helping to drive the Soviets from Afghanistan and dedicated to ousting Mr. Gadhafi from power.

Sufyan Ben Qumu, a Libyan army veteran who worked for Osama bin Laden‘s holding company in Sudan and later for an al Qaeda-linked charity in Afghanistan, is training many of the city’s rebel recruits.

Both Messrs. Hasady and Ben Qumu were picked up by Pakistani authorities after the U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 and were turned over to the U.S. Mr. Hasady was released to Libyan custody two months later. Mr. Ben Qumu spent six years at Guantanamo Bay before he was turned over to Libyan custody in 2007.

They were both released from Libyan prisons in 2008 as part of a reconciliation with Islamists in Libya.

Scott signs Florida teacher pay, tenure bill

TALLAHASSEE - Gov. Rick Scott has signed a bill that would put Florida teachers on merit pay while ending tenure for new hires.

Scott went to a charter school in Jacksonville on Thursday to sign the new law that also will chip away at teachers' due process and collective bargaining rights.

teachers get paid from taxes collected from everyone else.why slould a teacher or anyone else enjoy better benefits or pay than the people paying the taxes just b.c their an organized union that picks political candidates or scares them.this is why college tuition is out of sight like healthcare.the universities run the government all the way up.obama got in b/c he went to harvard just like bush,kennedy,clinton etc.its not what u know its who u know.bernanke prints the debt he is owned by princeton.big money big pension etc.all tax or endowment(tax shelter)supported.it takes 4 yrs to get hired by fire dept now b/c waiting list is so long.why?best pay/benefits going.drive around in 500k truck to fender benders etc.retire in 20 just like teacher at 50%pay at 40 yrs old. not bad. cant do it anywhere else except tax system

No left wing union riots here ? Wonder why ? It's because true Floridians, the one's that have raised their children here, have witnessed the dismal school system first hand are fed up. Tired of ever increasing school district taxes and higher and higher impact fees with no results. The snow birds and transplant retirees with no more children to raise have no relevance or interest. We have a tourist/service based economy. It's about time Florida children are given consideration. Thank you Scott- a great first step. 2nd step is to require each school board to have a BUSINESS adviser on board to make these districts live within their means

I don't really see the logic in taking money from the system that educates poor kids and giving it to the PRIVATE schools that get $30,000 a year from the likes of Jeb Bush's kids...
...unless of course, you're Jeb Bush, and you own a company that does FCAT remediation with your brothers Marvin and Neil, and are poised to step in and build private schools to suck the taxpayers money off in some effort to disprove the science that has already been done quite satisfactorily...
Oh yeah, Bolles School must be really hurting for money...the KIDS drive Porsche Cayennes, Mercedes etc., etc.
The problem IS though, the CHARTER schools ALWAYS turn out to be crooked and plagued with accounting problems and someone absconding with vast sums of money, and then they don't have enough to provide even the minimum.
Any study done by honest researchers proves that these schools do not perform better on standardized tests, even though they get to cherry-pick the students and reject the disruptive kids.

As a physical education teacher, I am curious as to how this will benefit the phys ed teachers? Pay for performance??? How will the evaluate Phys Ed teachers and what scores do you base it on? Do you base it how many push ups or sit ups they do at the beginning of the year then again at the end or do you base it on written exams? Too many questions need to be answered first. There are physical education teachers out there who sit back and roll a ball out every day and just pass their time, giving us who do teach a bad reputation. I am for weeding out the bad teachers, but with this merit pay, how will it affect me?

no dummy, it's a written test. forget the physical aspect of phys ed, now you can teach them sports history

Way to go Dick....now every 6 year old in Florida gets to determine the paycheck of their teacher. When did progress go so far from reality? How will you handle it when an entire class determines to undermine a good teacher, just because she makes them work hard? You have given power to children that they should NEVER have in the classroom!
How long will it take until the people in this state wake up and stand up for what is right?

This bill on the surface is awesome; pay more money to higher performing teachers, and fire the worst teachers. There are some major issues though.


1. There is not one penny allocated for this new merit pay system.

2. this umpowers children who already have been overly empowered. Now their performance on a standardized test determines their teachers salary/employment.

3. Many private companies, some which have a political interest, look to make millions off of developing new tests and assessments.

4. Teachers hav no say in what students enter their classes. I can go out and prospect for new customers. Only charter schools can cherry pick which students they want.

5. Why does Scott only acknowledge charter schools? If you look it up, most fail within a few years of openning.

There are GREAT public schools out there. Yes some are dumps, but we have painted all school with the same failing brush. If you stepped in my child's school, you will be impressed with the teachers and the students

I predict the most visable affect of this bill will not be higher quality of education, only higher taxes, The plan will cost billions to implement, that can only be accomplished by tax increases.  Outside of that, It will simply lead to a dramatic increase in the hated practice of teaching to the test.

Governor Scott. I'm sure Barack Obama, Jeb Bush, Maummar Gaddadfi, Bill Gates and others who stand to stand to profit from this, politically or financially, thank you.
