Psychiatric Medicine's Biggest Achievement? Tricking the masses...

Does ADD really exist?

Once upon a Time in America, American families would sit around and listen to radio broadcasts for hours as the main source of entertainment. Fast forward a few years and the television took over as the primary source of entertainment for American families. When I was a child during the 80s and television programming was very elaborate, there were many channels with many different versions of programming for the American people to choose from. However it seems that certain channels were more popular than others, this being especially true when the viewers are broken into age demographics. I consider myself as part of the MTV generation. When I was at the most crucial stages of mental development in my life, I now believe I was being preprogrammed to not accept information that is not summarized or shortened. Right around this time in the 1980s, MTV was gaining mass popularity. So, advertisers were using this station to appeal to the younger generation for any purpose that suited their companies advertising needs. My father would often talk about this as he could compare it to the advertisement and entertainment that he had seen as a child, saying that watching a few minutes of the show's and commercials on that channel would give him a headache. Being young and full of energy myself, I just thought to myself, that must be what age does to a man. Now it's years later and I have seen with my own eyes the damage this has caused our nation. At first I just assumed that our generation was different. I just thought my peers had not learned proper social skills and the mass majority of them would never be able to allow you to finish all of your statements before starting their own reply. I eventually got myself doing the same thing, not even listening to what someone was saying, just interrupting with my own opinions and thoughts. Becoming aware of this I became somewhat of a conversation mediator. By this I mean someone who forcibly makes someone else stop his or her interruption and let the original talker finish. I had not drawn the co-relation for years that this is actually what they call ADD in effect.

Does ADD exist? The symptoms absolutely do, however the disease itself has been created to explain those symptoms. These symptoms that I am referring to are similar to the comparison I made just now about the teenagers who are not able to carry on decent conversations. These symptoms of hyperactivity, lack of focus, and poor study habits are a direct result of fast-paced advertising and mind deterioration from watching too much television. Since the 80s, the fast-paced advertising and quick switch camera views in all movies and commercials have basically changed the way we as a people accept information forever. Even as you are reading this, a large percentage of you will have to reread something or pause due to having your own thought or opinion pop into your head before you have completed reading the information I am writing. This has nothing to do with a disease. Webster defines a disease as a disordered or incorrectly functioning organ, parts, structure, or system of the body resulting from the effect of genetic or developmental errors, infection, poisons, nutritional deficiency or imbalance, toxicity, or unfavorable environment factors; illness; sickness; ailment. The National Institute for Mental Health was caught in a lie at a conference in 1998 and even they could not describe what ADD actually is.

So now we know the real cause of the disorders; let's discuss possible solutions. We are evolving every day, every week, and every year more and more. How do we expect a school system that has been in play for 150 years to keep up with the evolution of our race? We can't! It is on us as parents to take the extra time to educate, stimulate, and nurture our children's developmental growth. To just look to the psychiatric industry for a quick fix and pop a pill into the kid's mouth is unacceptable. Bipolar, depression, anxiety, sleep problems, and ADD ALL exist however, only in reference to the symptoms not the disorders. Our government has tricked millions of people into believing they are messed up and need medication every single day in order to make it through. I am here to tell you that that is simply bullshit. Prozac was first given to the Jews in World War II in their drinking water, it was found to make them more complacent and easier to manage. Look it up. The pharmaceutical and psychiatric industries are responsible for millions of deaths every year. Look it up. This is the most blatant form of population control I have ever witnessed and I am convinced of what I'm saying to be the truth. I challenge any of you to do the research and notice the similarities between the last real political uprising in our country turning the late 60s and early 70s, and the beginning of pharmaceutical and psychological domination in this country. The hippie's were not originally seen as drugged out fools. They were smart political-minded, anti-government, peaceful activists. You ask any young person what and who the hippies were and you will see how powerful our government really is. How good they are at burying the truth and dancing around what is right. How good they are at making anyone who opposes them look foolish and crazy. Stop looking to these people for the answers, stop trusting them, especially when it comes to the health of our children.

Only God knows what's best for us, only he should be deciding what goes into our bodies. Live clean, live pure, face your problems head on, do not hide from them using drugs. Everyone has periods  or small amounts of ADD, depression, anxiety, and bipolar. For some people, these periods can last longer and be more intense than for others. It is up to you as an individual to find what works for you. There are many natural remedies for all of these so-called conditions and their symptoms given to us by God in the form of vitamins, exercise, and enjoying the beautiful things life has to offer. If you haven't found what helps with the depression, anxiety, and mood swings, then keep looking, don't give up on yourself, you can do it. Don't become one of the millions of people that dies every year from these drugs, or the other millions of people that suffer horrible side effects, or the other millions of people that suffer normal side effects, or the hundreds of millions of people whose lives were affected when their loved ones were forever changed or killed.

Tyler's Dad tells the story

Posted for

Polebot, Tyler's Father

When Tyler came into my full time care, his mother was double dosing him with Adderall XR15. Meaning when he got home from school she was giving him another pill to curb what she called "his coming down". In 2 years of having my son I never observed the behavior she was referring too. She went to jail for petty theft and driving on suspended license charges,

I received a phone call from my mother telling me that I needed to pick up my son from school. This was it! The chance I had been waiting for! No more "babies momma drama", no more bs, just me and my son. I can raise him how I see fit and help him develop into a good man. I have already let go of my party life, would require just a little more time out of my day.. you know what? LETS DO IT!

I called my mom immediately back to tell her I was accepting the challenge and I would take care of everything. A week or two after Tyler was in my full time care, his medication ran out, I decided to not renew it, and to try to let Tyler do life without drugs. There were noticeable withdrawals as far as him being overly hyper, but that went away after a week or two.

Right around the time that I got a note home requesting a meeting with his teacher. I agreed and set the meeting. After the meeting I learned that my son was VERY far behind in school. He was already on these drugs for so long, how can he possibly still be doing badly? I promised the teacher stricter discipline and more work at home. The next few weeks Tyler and I got back on track and I assumed he was doing better. I then got another note requesting another meeting, this time with administrators and professionals?

I looked at my son and ask him whats going on?  Isn't he trying harder?   Doesn't he understand that I was serious when I said there was going to be consequences? he confessed that he was trying very hard and is doing his best now.

I went to this meeting and on one side of a long brown table sat 5 nicely dressed adults, and then on the other side of the desk, a kid sized chair. Probably one just like Tyler sat in everyday. Then after a few introductions they all sat in big people chairs, I noticed but sat and listened to what they had to say.

I must admit they were very persuasive, showing me some school work of his while he was off the medication, and then while he was on the medication. Occasionally murmuring phrases like, "don't you want whats best for him". My resolve lessened and I admitted that I did want what was best for him, and agreed to put him back on the meds. No other alternatives presented themselves, or were offered. Now I realize that the bad schoolwork was another result of the medication, his brain, without the meds, would recede back to the last time it was off them. He was barely 5 when these bastards starting the process that eventually ended his sweet little life.

Throughout the next 2 years of Tyler's life I took him off the medicine every chance I could. Every weekend, every spring break, summer break, winter break, any day I could I would not give it to him. Call me crazy but I like a kid with an imagination and creativity. A child that can entertain with a story or joke, instead of one word answers.

Every time he started with a new teacher I would attempt to keep him off but being harrassed two to four days a week out of a five day week was getting old. I wanted what was best for him but like I said there were no options. I was told I had the right to informed consent? They even called me at 1:30pm asking me to bring him medicine one time. I stated that by the time I got there and the medicine kicked in it would be 2:30.

The teacher was pushing and pushing for my son to be so doped out he couldn't possibly talk out of turn or cause her to have to stop her teachings to correct him.  She flagged my parents down and called me almost daily the month Tyler was off his medicine exactly 2 months before he died. She was not as his funeral.

If you personally know someone that this medicine has helped, that's wonderful. A BABY who's brain is not fully developed and who is not done maturing, should NEVER be FORCIBLY drugged by the school board, pediatricians, or their own parents for behavior modification.

College students get hooked on ‘smart drugs’ (Adderall)

At colleges across America, students are becoming addicted to a popular prescription drug — not because they’re trying to get high, but because they hope to get smarter. The drug, Adderall, is normally prescribed for kids with attention deficit disorder. But some college kids are taking the medication because it helps them focus and pull all-nighters.
One ‘A’ student at one of the nation’s top tier colleges explained the appeal of the pills kids call “study buddies.”

“When I’m on Adderall and I’m looking at the textbook I can forget about everything else around me,” she told NBC News’ Amy Robach, in a report aired on TODAY. “I figured if everyone else is doing it, why shouldn’t I get the advantage?”

Another student, “Mike,” who asked that his real name be withheld, elaborated. “It’s given me the boost to work non-stop for 10 hours a day,” he explained. “Baseball players take steroids to be the best and students take Adderall to be the best. It’s steroids for school.”

ADHD Medication Study

Yesterday morning Fishygal sent me a link to a CNN Story titled Study: ADHD meds don't boost severe heart risks  The  headline seemed to contradict a lot of information I'd read on the subject since I first took a serious interest in it last December when a member of this website lost his eight year old grandson, Tyler..  The article started off like this:
Children and teens who take medications for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder are no more likely to die from severe heart problems than those who do not take the medications, new research has found
.That was the conclusion of a study conducted by The University of Pennsylvania and was co authored by Healthcare.  An  Associate Professor, Sean Hennessy co authored the study, according to him;

"For kids who will benefit from ADHD treatment, the potential risk of a cardiovascular event should not dissuade parents or caregivers from giving a child or adolescent these drugs."

Today, nearly 5% of American children between ages 6 and 17 — about 4.5 million children — have been diagnosed with ADHD, and two-thirds of those take medicine to control their symptoms.  Those are the "Official Numbers"  I've seen unofficial numbers twice as high, considering the vast majority are boys, depending on who's numbers you trust, as many as one in five boys might have ADHD..... Does anyone rember the old line "Boys will be Boys"?
