111th Congress Spends More Than First 100 Congresses Combined!

According to the US Treasury’s debt figures (www.treasurydirect.gov), the federal government has accumulated more new debt--$3.22 trillion—during the 111th Congress than it did during the nation’s first 100 Congresses combined. That’s saying something, since the 110th Congress’ debt escalation was impressive in itself.

The additive debt between the 1st and 101st Congresses was $2.684 trillion. During Pelosi’s tenure as speaker in the 110th and 111th Congresses (i.e. Democrat control of Congress), the debt almost doubled to $5.177 trillion.

Pelosi’s inaugural address included this quote, "After years of historic deficits, this 110th Congress will commit itself to a higher standard...no new deficit spending...our new America will provide unlimited opportunity for future generations, not burden them with mountains of debt."

Liar. This new debt alone constitutes an additional $10,429 of tax liability per citizen.

112th Congress hear this: spend only what is required to carry out your Constitutional duties. Nothing more, nothing less. To continue the current trend is to commit treason.
