A billion dollars, a trillion dollars, are normally two terms to quantify most US Government expenditures these days. If fact, these descriptions of federal spending have been tossed around so often over the past decade, the people providing all that money have effectively become desensitized to the enormous amount of America’s treasure these numbers represent.

Let us start the illustration with what I’m sure most government officials consider “chump change”.

Here we see one banded bundle of hundred dollar bills. When he died at the age of 49 in 1966, my father never once knew a single year where he made this much money. In his best year he made a little over half of this amount. Tax payer funded social functions in Washington D.C. likely spend this much on crackers and cheese.
