Serenity on the Shore

Well, lets put a post on here that's not strum und drang. I live about 90 minutes away from the "Forgotten Coast" - St. Teresa, Lanark Village, Carrabelle, Eastpoint, St. George Island, Appalachicola. My husband and I escape there as often as we can. Since we both grew up on the coast of Virginia, for us there is no bad day at the beach - even rain is nice.

Being at the coast is our relaxation and let's us unwind from the stresses of life. The only decision to make is whether to have the shrimp fried or blackened. Or if it's an "r" month for oysters.

We wake up without an alarm clock - sometimes at 6 a.m. and sometimes not until 8 a.m. We nap when we want, walk when we choose, read, read, read - and catch up on movies on TV. And, if my husband is in a good mood (which he usually is at the coast, we window-shop and I usually find some bargains. His rule is if I take one thing home, I have to get rid of two or three things. So far, it's working.

I thought I heard mention of a farm in Winchester.. I forget if that was was before or after rural electrification made it that far.
