U.S. agents slam gun sting effort on Mexico border

(Reuters) - U.S. firearms agents told lawmakers on Wednesday they were instructed to only watch as hundreds of guns were bought, illegally resold and sent to Mexico where drug-related violence has raged for years.

Agents for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in Arizona told the House of Representatives Oversight Committee they were told not to arrest the so-called straw buyers and instead see where the guns went.

The US Government screw up was so bad Jon Stewart took a break from bashing Sarah Palin, Republicans and Conservatives in General and targeted the Obama Administration for a change..  Well not quite, he stopped with Eric Holder.

  1. OK, so the Mexican government "cooperated" but were not informed? Radio shack batteries? You really just have to watch this one. Unbelievable.

The ATF is part of the DOJ, so maybe there will be more news on this one.

  2. Oh man. barry now has stewart, kucinich, algore LLC, carville, and that doofus columnist eugene robinson on his case. Reminds me of LBJ lamenting the fact that Walter Kronkite was against the war in Vietnam.

  3. Look for lots of coverup, both from the media and the administration... those blacked out pages are just the start.

  4. Marine, not sure if that bunch combined has the influence Walter Kronkite had.

  5. Maybe as much as Chris Farley or the 3 stooges.
