Our Beloved Leader LIES again

ONSLOW COUNTY --

Our primary concern was ensuring the people inside Ajdubiyah were safe from Qadhafi’s artillery and tanks,” said Col. Mark J. Desens, commanding officer of 26th MEU. “Everything we are seeing following these strikes indicates that his forces are now less capable of threatening the town than before.”

We've seen Camp Lejuene Marines in Iraq and Afghanistan and now they are joining the fight against Libya.About 2,200 Marines from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, or 26th MEU will take part. Their mission is to help end the violence directed at the Libyan people."In Libya right now they are doing exactly what we need them to do. They are doing what they are told and right now that's protecting Libyan people against Qadhafi forces," said Captain Timothy Patrick, a Marine with the 26th MEU.

UPDATE: Conditions set forth by the U.N. Security Council towards resolving the unrest in Libya included the removal of Libyan Leader Muammar al-Qadhafi’s forces from Ajdubiyah. These latest strikes by the MEU aimed at preserving the sanctity of the city and the safety of the civilians within it. In an effort to safeguard the Libyan populace and infrastructure in and around the city of Ajdabiyah from further attacks by regime forces, 26th MEU, as part of Joint Task Force Odyssey Dawn, launched a second round of strikes by AV-8B Harrier jump jets.

Patrick says that marines from the 26th MEU are coming on the end of their deployment. They will be replaced with marines from the 22nd MEU.A press release from the 26th MEU reads, in part:"Protecting the innocent and conducting combined operations are what we are designed to do, our forces are doing both as part of the U.S commitment to protect Libyan citizens."

Grumpy Note

It appears that Obama's broad coalition does not exist.  Even within NATO, Germany and Turkey have withdrawn their support.  Whatever support Obama thought he had from Arab Nations does not appear to exist.  India, China, Russia and the African Union are openly opposed to intervention.

It has become clear that US Marines did enter Libya to rescue the crew of the downed F 15, at best a technical violation of Obama's promise of now boots on the ground.  There are reports the Marines shot Libyian nationals during the rescue.

It appears that contrary to what the president said we have 2200 Marines in Lubya at this moment.

Additional News
Original Story ---

Jacksonville, N.C. - Marines from the 26th MEU from right here in the east helped last night to recover the pilots in the F-15 Strike Eagle jet that crashed in Libya.

The recovery mission proves Marines are making a difference in every aspect of the efforts in Libya.

The F-15 fighter jet crashed around 9:30 Monday night in Libya. That's 5:30 our time here in the states.

It was a Marine Corps Osprey that led the recovery of the crashed pilot.

Sources at Camp Lejeune say all the Osprey's currently stationed in Libya are from the New River Air Station...............

.............As we reported yesterday, Marines from Camp Lejeune and New River are also stationed aboard U.S.S Kearsarge for events just like this one, where they're able to assist in any way they can.

  1. Yeah he and the one of the "Big f------ deal" fame are not known for their honesty or integrity. Can we just hang in there for another 22 months?

  2. Marine, I'm looking for more confirmation, if this is true, it won't be 22 months. He will have lied directly to Congress and the American People about the situation.

That means he cannot be trusted as Commander in Chief, even long enough for an Impeachment Proceeding.. He needs to be suspended from office pending the outcome.

  3. I do wish someone with a bit more credibility than denny kucinich were leading the call for his head. Even charlie rangel would be a better spokesman.

After that "Historic Event", I do not see much of anything happening to change things until January of 2013.

  5. I think there may be a little overreaction here. There may have been a couple "boots on the ground" during the rescue of the two navy airmen, but I have not seen or heard a verifiable report of the 2200 marines, incountry.
So don't get your hopes up.

  6. Anonymous. Not a matter of getting hopes up, more a question of "Is Obama telling the truth" There were clearly a couple boots on the ground, but no one is going to fault anyone for rescuing a downed pilot.

There are reports that several villagers were shot by Americans during the rescue, presumably from rescue aircraft.

On the second pilot we have this, not so detailed report..

The other pilot was reported to be safe and in "American hands". Six villagers were believed to have been shot by a US helicopter during his rescue. The US military would not divulge the location of the second pilot

    And we have this

The other airman aboard the plane, a weapons officer, was “recovered by the people of Libya,” said Adm. Samuel Locklear III, commander of US Naval Forces in Europe and Africa. “He was treated with dignity and respect and is now in the care of the United States
