Transparent Spin

Last few days have been so full of it, it's hard to pick a starting point.  I guess the easiest might be simplest.  What the heck, everyone else has something to say about Charlie Rangel now days,  I might as well put in my two cents.  The short version;  Rangel  has put the democrats in a bad spot.

He's looking at some bad corruption charges and the real possibility that after a trial he could be expelled from Congress.  Charlie doesn't believe the House has the votes make that evidence to expel him.  If he doesn't resign, the Democratic majority  is going to have to hold a  Trial for Ethics Vioations and Corruption for one of it's most legendary members during the weeks leading up to the November elections..  They're concerned about voter reaction to  corruption being exposed at the highest levels of party leadership. 

The President just weighed in on the situation saying;


"I think Charlie Rangel served a very long time and served his constituents very well. But these allegations are very troubling," Obama said on Friday in an interview with CBS News' Harry Smith.

"He's somebody who's at the end of his career. Eighty years old. I'm sure that what he wants is to be able to end his career with dignity. And my hope is that it happens." Obama added.

Translation;  "Charlie, my friend, my old buddy, our party and even worse, me personally are going to get clobbered in November as it is, give me a break, resign, get out.   Sacrifice yourself for the sake of the President and our party.  At last, we have transparent in the  Obama Administration, close anyway.  So much for poor old Charlie.

 The last couple days I've been seeing headlines about repealing the  1099 requirement in the Health-care Bill.  The idiotic provision requires businesses to issue 1099's to every company they purchase anything from if purchases amount to more than $600.00 over the a year.  Say you buy your office cleaning supplies at the Win Dixie across the street from your business, you must  send Win Dixie, Publix or whoever, a 1099 every year.  Now the Dems are in a panic to repeal this provision of Comprehensive Health Care Reform.  before November.  A vote to repeal the provision just failed in the House of Representatives, so now the Democrats are trying to blame Obstructionist Republicans for the problem.  Republicans are saying they won't support the current measure because there is nothing to to offset the lost revenue.

Try and put this into perspective.  For almost two years the Republicans fought passage of the law because the the law itself, imlementation and  numbers didn't work anywhere except a make believe land called Capitol Hill .   By the time the law was passed 60% of Americans were opposed to it.  Democrats only managed to pass the law through thuggery, rule bending and manipulation.

Americans were told to "Trust the Democrats"   We were told, "The Republicans are the Party of No, nothing but a bunch of Obstructionists and liars.  They called ordinary citizens who opposed the law (fill in the blank) and worse names.  We were told by the Nancy Pelosi we had to read the pass the law to know what's in it.  We were told our Congressional Representatives didn't have time to read it because "It would take two days and two lawyers to understand it"..  Some people did read, I must have seen 200 articles about this one issue before the law was passed. All of them predicted the the provision would be a disaster.   Pelosi, Reid and Obama refused to hear it.  All they wanted was Obama's signiture on a massive a Health-care bill, they didn't care what it did, or didn't do.

Now the Democrats want the Republicans to save their rear-ends before what's left of the Democrat's base realizes they really are donkey's
